After purchase, participants receive a Participant Agreement PDF by email - including terms, health declaration, liability waiver, emergency contact, and insurance confirmation.

The €900 deposit secures your place on the expedition and includes access to the KILI48 Digital Preparation Program. As the program and preparation services commence upon registration, the deposit is non-refundable.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need previous climbing experience?

No. Kilimanjaro is a trekking mountain rather than a technical climbing mountain, meaning no previous climbing or mountaineering experience is required. The route is completed entirely on foot.

What matters most is a willingness to prepare, commit, and embrace the challenge. While the ascent does not require technical skills, it demands resilience, discipline, and the ability to stay present when conditions become physically and mentally demanding.

How fit do I need to be?

Participants should have a solid fitness base and be comfortable with endurance-based activities. You do not need to be an elite athlete, but you should be prepared to train consistently and fully engage in the preparation process.

The goal is not simply to reach the summit, but to arrive prepared to meet the mountain with confidence.

Is this safe?

Safety is our highest priority. The expedition is led by experienced mountain professionals and supported by a highly trained local crew.

Throughout the journey, participants are closely monitored for altitude adaptation, health, and overall wellbeing. Every decision is made with safety in mind.

While risks can be carefully managed, no mountain expedition is entirely without risk.

What route do we climb?

The expedition follows the Marangu Route on Mount Kilimanjaro, often referred to as the "Coca-Cola Route." This route offers hut accommodation throughout the ascent and provides an excellent balance between accessibility, challenge, and summit success.

What happens if I can't continue?

Participant safety always comes first. If expedition leaders or mountain professionals determine that continuing would be unsafe, appropriate descent support and guidance will be provided.

Not reaching the summit does not mean failure. The true measure of the journey is the courage to begin and the growth that happens along the way.

What is not included?

International flights, travel insurance, visa fees, personal equipment, tips for the local crew, and personal expenses are not included unless otherwise stated.

How does payment work?

Participants may either pay the full expedition fee of €4,900 or secure their place with a €900 deposit.
